Today I spoke with Sarah Anne Lawless, who I really admire. She does a lot of interesting work within herbalism - both medicinal and magical.
After speaking with her I know I need to finally dedicate the time to learn about plants, their uses and history, and begin working with them more seriously.
She encouraged newcomers to seek out field guides and begin to do some local identification. This week I'll try to hit up the library to see if I can find a good field guide for this area. Also, I discovered some organizations in my city around native plants that I may check out.
I already have several books on plant medicine and herbalism that I need to get out and start reading.
